Dacre Stoker Presents: Stoker on Stoker
Bram Stoker’s Life, the Mysteries Behind the Research and Writing of Dracula
Join us inside VAMPA’s Sanctuary Room on Sunday, October 18th, at 3:00 pm, for a special 90-minute presentation by Dacre Stoker, the great-grandnephew of Dracula author Bram Stoker and a leading authority on the life, research, and legacy of the creator of the world’s most famous vampire.
An international and New York Times bestselling author, Dacre co-authored Dracula the Un-Dead and Dracul, both inspired by Stoker family history and Bram Stoker’s unpublished notes. As co-manager of the Bram Stoker Estate, he has spent decades researching family archives, rare manuscripts, and the real people, places, and events that helped inspire Dracula.
In this richly illustrated audio-visual presentation, Dacre takes audiences behind the scenes of one of the most influential novels written.
Through rare photographs, manuscripts, maps, research materials, and family history, he separates myth from fact while revealing how Bram Stoker transformed history, science, folklore, and personal experience into Dracula.
Guests will discover:
Bram Stoker’s original research notes
Rare books used during the writing of Dracula
Newly uncovered insights from the surviving manuscript
The real locations behind the novel
Why Vlad Dracula became part of the legend
The search for Castle Dracula
Whitby’s role in the novel’s creation
Bram’s writing retreats in Scotland
The surprising medical influences behind the story
This presentation is limited to 25 guests.
Museum admission is not included with this ticket.
Tickets are $50 per person.
